A Small Comfort, Inc is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing support and comfort to children and their families in times of medical crisis. Founded in 2009, A Small Comfort works to provide for the unique needs of these families.

 In early Fall, ASC will unveil the new Pediatric Playroom at Chippenham Medical Center. Plans for this renovation have been in
the works for roughly a year now, and thanks to the support of our partners and volunteers, those plans will culminate with a ribbon
cutting ceremony, in September. The new playroom will be a
welcome reprieve for the children and families during their stay at Chippenham Medical Center.

ASC is proud and grateful to announce that we were selected as a recipient for a $10,000 grant from the Ronald McDonald House of Richmond! Funds from the grant will be instrumental in completing the renovation of the playroom at Chippenham Medical Center. A very special thank you to Marsha Hargette, and the Ronald McDonald House of Richmond Board and Staff! This grant is truly an amazing gift for ASC and one that will extend to the Richmond community through the Playroom for many years to come!

Thank you to Cathy Green, of Cathy Green Interiors for giving of both her time and talents to construct the beautiful designs for the Playroom Project! The designs use colors and artwork to give a whimsical feel to the room, while still continuing the safari theme of the pediatric floor. A jungle play place will also be created for children of a wide range of age and abilities to enjoy.
