A Small Comfort balances the equation of value in bringing comfort – determining how they can best help an individual or a family, meet the needs of an individual or a family as they can, and by doing that bring “comfort” or that feeling of ease or well being, even in the face of affliction or distress. ” Dr. Ted Abernathy

"When a family is consumed by the overwhelming needs of a very ill child it is the small comforts that can make such a huge difference in helping a family to make the best of each day ahead."
Dr. Bob Archuleta

"When you and your family are going through an extreme or unexpected situation, you quickly realize that every little moment is important, that every small act of kindness provides hope and comfort."

Webster defines Comfort as a “condition of pleasurable ease or well being; to sooth in time of affliction or distress; one that brings or provides comfort; solace; the capacity to give physical or mental ease.”

We are dedicated to providing support and comfort to children and their families in times of crisis.   We strive to promote normalcy and balance in an otherwise chaotic, stressful and challenging environment.

A hot meal delivered to a family in a time of crisis, gift cards when they are needed most, hotel stay for a shower and rest when there is nowhere else to turn -- these are just some of the ways that your donation is put to work through A Small Comfort. In addition, A Small Comfort works with participating hospitals and doctor's offices to assist with some of the more unique needs of families.

Our supporters have donated their time and money to continue providing a little normalcy to families in crisis. We thank them for their gifts and we are privileged to put their compassion into action.
